I'm Jenn. I create colour-drenched, dreamy paintings that celebrate the joy of surrendering to the moment.

My process

Using acrylics, oils and mixed media, I intuitively build up a loose and flowing feeling of euphoric colour, finishing with realistic figures that appear to emerge from the dream. I love the tension and balance play of chaos and control, and capturing the mid-state of dream-like trance with hyper vigilant awareness.

Sometimes I include UV-reactive paints, which glow under black light and offer a whole new view. (It's like getting two paintings onto one canvas!)

What's the thread running through all my work?

Wild, unapologetic authenticity -- this is true, perfect beauty to me.

On a personal note, I worked through big, ugly anxiety and realized we all have similar insecurities as humans (and they're all BS). When we worry what goes on in the minds of others, or listen to the fearful voice in our minds, we shrink. We give our best to the world when we feel our best. Beneath all the fear, when we feel free to express our truest self, I believe we're all one beautiful, throbbing beast of perfection.

My mission has become to really SEE beneath the fears to that wild perfection, and show that beauty to you. I want you to feel the love you deserve -- exactly as you are -- each time you see my work. Visual art has always been my favourite way to express, and is the natural way to connect and get the message out and up onto walls.

Each piece (like each subject) is unique in style, but all my work is rooted in love. Every mark is handcrafted with you in mind. Making you feel truly seen and loved is my ultimate pleasure and purpose.
